How to love your coat
Your coat will stand up to just about anything as long as you care for it properly.
- LOVE YOUR COAT. Love your coat and it will love you, keep you
warm, and stay with you for a very long time.
- NEVER BRING YOUR COAT TO A DRY CLEANERS. Unless you know 100%
that this particular cleaner knows how to care for your coat don't risk
it. Far too many wonderful playa coats have been destroyed by these
establishments.
- Washing is hard on your coat. If possible vacuum or spot clean. With
heavy use maybe wash 2 to 3 times a year with less use wash less often.
- When you do need to clean your coat do it on a nice day. Put it in the
washer COLD water and a little light detergent, wash on gentle cycle.
(If your coat is caked in playa dust add a little vinegar to help clean
it out).
- When your coat is done in the washer take it out and dry flat till it
is dry enough to hang dry. NEVER EVER PUT YOUR COAT IN THE DRYER!!! The
heat will melt your wonderful fur into tiny plastic balls that will
never come out. When dry lightly brush.
- Keep coat away from open flame, heaters, and radiators. HEAT IS BAD.
Just like a dryer these things will turn the lovely fur into tiny balls
that will never come out.
- Sun will fade fabrics if they are exposed for long periods of time.
When you aren't wearing your coat keep it in the closet away from
sunlight.
